hwmon hwmon1 : Undervoltage detected when suspend

When I try to suspend my Ubuntu 22.04 the machine doesn't suspend but displays an eternal list of hwmon hwmon1 : Undervoltage detected! on an otherwise black screen.
Returning from the not so suspended suspend state works OK.
I also have an Ubuntu 24.04 installed on the same machine and it behaves in the same manner.
My system is an rather old i7 with 16 GB RAM and an Radeon GPU and otherwise it functions normally.
What can be wrong and what can I do?

No, I had this problem for months.Three days after I posted it just disappeared.
